ITRI developed the Miniature Serpentine Robotic System, which generates 3D bronchial models from preoperative CT scans. This system integrates endoscopic navigation, haptic feedback, and omnidirectional control, enhancing the safety and efficiency of bronchoscopic sampling. Equipped with ultra-thin bronchoscopes (2.9 mm in diameter), it can access distal airways, expanding the sampling range and reducing procedure time.

Validated through multiple trials and internationally certified, the system received a 2024 R&D 100 Award, reinforcing domestic innovation and global competitiveness.
