Technology Overview
Eco-Friendly Waterproof & Moisture-Permeable Membrane From Recycled Textiles
Each year, 90 million tons of waste textiles are produced worldwide, yet less than 1% is recycled due to the difficulty of recycling blended fabrics. Circu-Texfilm promotes textile circularity through precise chemical depolymerization and repolymerization, transforming polyethylene terephthalate (PET)/polyurethane (PU) blended textiles back into raw materials. By rebalancing and polymerizing the recovered PET and PU, it creates a high-performance breathable polyurethane membrane with excellent water resistance and moisture permeability.
Applications & Benefits
Containing up to 20% recycled content, the material meets Global Recycled Standard (GRS) requirements. Developed with Singtex Group, the RePUra™ waterproof and breathable membrane has entered mass production, aligning with the EU’s Digital Product Passport (DPP) initiative and textile-totextile (T2T) circularity framework. Recognized with a 2025 R&D 100 Award, the technology offers a reliable, low-carbon circular solution for the textile industry.
These recycled membranes can be widely applied in high-performance apparel that requires waterproofing, windproofing, and breathability.
