ITRI and AIST held the 10th ITRI–AIST Joint Symposium. The event centered on robotics and artificial intelligence, with both organizations sharing updates on their latest research developments, application progress, and strategic directions.
To strengthen collaboration in research and industrial innovation, ITRI and Japan's AIST held the 10th ITRI–AIST Joint Symposium, focusing on the robotics and AI. The event highlighted the latest achievements from both organizations and their potential to shape the next wave of smart technology development.
As one of leading national research institutes in Japan, AIST has long played a pivotal role in advancing technological innovation and supporting industry adoption. It has a close partnership with ITRI across multiple frontier technology fields, jointly fostering cross-disciplinary research and technical exchange.
The symposium, co-chaired by ITRI President Pei-Zen Chang and AIST Senior Vice President Haruhiko Obara, brought together research teams from both sides to present developments in human–robot interaction, intelligent unmanned systems, and companion robotics. These exchanges offered valuable insights into emerging trends and future directions in the field.
Building on a partnership that began in 2005, ITRI and AIST will renew their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) next year. Considering including advanced technologies such as robotics and AI in the list of areas of mutual interest for cooperation in the renewed MoU, both will continue to reinforce technical exchange and strengthen ties between research and industry, opening a new chapter in Taiwan–Japan innovation and contributing fresh momentum to future industrial development.
