工研院為國內研究單位中具備提供完整視音訊IP之主要提供者,擁有領先國際的低開發成本、高效能、高畫質、高壓縮率之多標準視訊編碼硬體IP技術與完整專利佈局,包括完成國內第一個AVC+AVS雙模編解碼硬體IP、可支援深度資訊編碼的AVC+MVC+MVD三模硬體編碼與解碼硬體IP、以及視訊擷取與轉換編解碼(Video Capturing and Conversion)Codec IP技術等,可提供國內系統與晶片廠商軟硬體整合之解決方案,加速國內產業往高附加價值之高階產品發展。

應用與效益

工研院研發的H.264/AVC IP技術與專利已移轉給國內視訊IC設計大廠,鞏固台灣在Web Cam H.264/AVC視訊編解碼器IP的全球市佔領導地位;而AVC/MVC/MVD Codec IP已移轉予世界知名研究機構IMEC,由其整合自有stereo matching 技術,完成single SOP chip,合作拓展國際商機。

特色與創新

工研院亦於MPEG/ITU國際標準組織中提案進入標準並爭取Co-leadership,並且成功推動工研院成為全球歷史最悠久的國際電信聯盟(ITU)登錄的轉化組織,增強台灣參與國際標準組織運作之影響力。
