培育弱勢學生才藝 拉近城鄉差距

都會區才藝補習班林立,學生想學課業以外的專長,管道非常多;然而,偏鄉孩子就沒這麼幸運,教學資源少,家庭經濟可能也無力支應。工研人了解這個現象,院內社團紛紛發動起義務教學活動,像是課輔志工隊至新竹家扶中心、尖石八五山煤源教會,教導學童程式教育;聯合精鷹羽球社前往苗栗幼安教養院,指導院童打羽球;熱舞社一如往年,持續關懷內政部少年之家,教導院童舞藝;弦樂社及管樂社則至築心之家教授小提琴才藝。

其中,程式教育之多媒體課程,志工引進已獲150國採用的創意程式工具ScratchJr,是由美國麻省理工學院所開發,學童可自訂舞臺(背景)、創造角色(物件)、錄製與剪輯音效,透過程式邏輯積木方塊,做出特效與動作,簡單快速的製作動畫,藉以培育偏鄉弱勢學童的程式設計能力,拉近資訊教育的城鄉差距。
