The Newly Launched “Leaders in Future Trend (LIFT)” Program

The leaders in Future Trend (LIFT) program, launched by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST),  Taiwan in July this year (2017), aims to recruit 100 high-level overseas talents holding doctorate degrees, having the nationality of the Republic of China, and under the age of 45, to return to share their expertise and develop collaborative partnership with Taiwan industries.

The main venues of the LIFT program are the three “Sharing Hubs”, located at the biggest science parks in Taiwan: Hsinchu, Central Taiwan, and South Taiwan Science Parks. The “Sharing Hubs” will be set up in collaboration with local industries, academia and research institutions to serve as platforms for the returning talents to share their expertise and experiences. The returning talents can either participate in LIFT exchange events, or proactively plan and organize sharing events or activities according to their specialty and professional backgrounds.

The duration of the 2017 program is up to one year, which includes monthly exchange subsidies and access to the science park housing application as well as schooling application to Science Park's Bilingual Departments or Programs or schools nearby for their dependent children.

The LIFT program that brings high-level overseas talents back to Taiwan on professional exchanges benefits a number of stakeholders. On one hand, Taiwan industries and academics that interact with the returning talents can be enriched by establishing new contacts, being introduced to latest technology trends and applications, learning new ideas, expanding visions, and becoming part of the global community. On the other hand, returning talents can establish professional networks through LIFT events and activities as a basis of career advancement and continuing professional development.

The deadline for the application is August 14, 2017. Send in your application now and you are already halfway home. For further information, please visit our website:
