The trend of vehicle development will be moving towards electrification, autonomy and IoT in the next decade. The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and modules related to autonomous vehicles are expected to bring a new wave of business opportunities. However, most players in the ADAS industry come from an ICT background, and only a few have yet delivered their products to automotive manufacturers.
Tronc-e, an ITRI startup company that owns patents on automotive safety multi-imaging technology, has entered the ADAS standard market for automotive manufacturers with its solid technologies. Tronc-e has invested in the development of imaging technology for car safety and six patented technologies for products such as 3D AVM and a rear obstacle detection system. Its first product, electronic rear-view mirrors, has successfully entered the international vehicle supply chain.
Tronc-e will continue to work with ITRI on the development of subsystem products for autonomous vehicles and create new business opportunities for both parties.
