Technologies for testing vehicle controllers and battery management systems are becoming increasingly important as specialized microcontrollers (MCUs) are prevalent in automobiles. However, due to the complexities involved in developing and verifying firmware, Taiwan has relied on foreign suppliers. To break away from this dependence, ITRI has developed a controller that integrates vehicle control and wire transmission, as well as a vehicle operating system AUTOSAR software, both designed for automotive safety and environmental reliability.
Applications & Benefits
These products have been successfully adopted by six car manufacturers and officially launched in commercially available vehicles in 2022. This innovation is projected to advance the country's technological capabilities in vehicle software development, assisting SMEs in upgrading their software development skills.
