PET Fabrics Cleaning Decolorization Technology

Technology Overview

PET Fabrics Cleaning Decolorization Technology.
PET Fabrics Cleaning Decolorization Technology.

Recycled polyester, mostly made from PET bottles, represents only 14% of the fashion industry's polyester market. To improve the processing and supply of this recycled material, ITRI has developed the PET Fabrics Cleaning Decolorization Technology. Designed for polyester fiber fabrics dyed with dispersed dyes, this technology uses ecofriendly water-based agents to remove dyes and restore the polyester materials to their original color without compromising their high quality.

Applications & Benefits

The solution overcomes the traditional bottleneck of poor decolorization, where recycled polyester is unavailable for spinning and can only be downgraded due to the presence of residual dyes. As a result, it enhances the value of recycled polyester fabrics, accelerates the development of closed-loop fiber-to-fiber recycling, and drives the textile industry’s sustainable transition.
