Technology Overview
Circular Packaging & Data Exchange Hub Service.
As online shopping grows rapidly, the volume of waste packaging materials is on the rise. ITRI has created the Circular Packaging and Data Exchange Hub Service to promote the green transformation of consumption, logistics, and operations. It cooperates with e-commerce platforms and logistics companies to unify bag and box specifications and expand recycling locations. These efforts reduce corporate procurement costs and encourage consumers to recycle packaging materials. While the system combines AI and big data analytics to optimize transportation routes and energy efficiency, the use of return trucks and shared vehicles further reduces carbon footprints and energy consumption.
Applications & Benefits
The innovative service has facilitated cross-industry collaboration among Taiwan's leading e-commerce brands momo.com and ETMall, retailers Carrefour and Watsons, logistics service provider Tracle, recycled packaging suppliers Yungwen and PackAge+, Tokyo Property Management, and the four major convenience store chains. Through the network of 20,000 locations and the expansion from B2C to B2B, a comprehensive circular ecosystem is being established.
