Prognostic and Health Management (PHM) is designed to assess and monitor the health status of equipment and to predict when maintenances should be performed. PHM can provide early warning notices before a problematic incident occurred, thereby reducing unexpected shut down of equipment.

Applications & Benefits

ITRI's Prognostic and Health Management, a 2017 R&D 100 Award winner, uses multi-level ensemble learning techniques which integrate a variety of advanced machine learning algorithms with domain knowledge. Along with model adaptation techniques to cope with individual equipment characteristics and drift in environmental conditions, PHM provides high-accuracy fault diagnosis and prognostic technologies. It supplies the means for engineers to early detect problems, effectively monitor the health of the production equipment, determine causes of downtime, and shorten maintenance time. PHM can greatly reduce the uncertainty to which machine malfunction brings.

Prognostic and Health Management (PHM) is designed to assess and monitor the health status of equipment and to predict when maintenances should be performed. ITRI’s PHM uses advanced AI algorithms to create the successful anomaly prognosis system for application in semiconductors. Through collecting and analyzing factory data, ITRI’s PHM was able to provide early warning notices before a problematic incident occurred, thereby reducing unexpected shut down of equipment.  Early warning allows manufacturing engineers to adopt corrective measures before damage is done, which is beneficial towards maximizing production and towards ensuring the product quality of diverse-types-and-small-quantity production, therefore satisfying industrial standards demanded by the hi-end market.
