Digital Magnetic Bearing Control
ITRI developed the hardware & software technology for digital Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB), which applications included refrigerant centrifugal compressor, air blower, vacuum molecular pump, liquid pump, turbo expander, and flywheel. The integrated technology has established patent portfolio, design, manufacturing and supply chains. The hardware technology included the driving-unit, controlling-unit, and sensing-unit. The software technology included sensor calibration, system identification, shaft maglev control, signal process, and GUI monitoring. The digital AMB control performance meets the standard of ISO-14839 requirements.
Applications & Benefits
This technical achievement has won the 5th National Industrial Innovation Award of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Sharp Energy Award of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Outstanding Research Award and Industrialization Contribution Award of ITRI. ITRI has integrated the domestic industries for the high-speed motor applications and enhanced international competitiveness.
