Gas leakage has always been a crucial industrial safety issue within the chemical engineering and energy industries, and early detection of small leaks is central to the prevention of accidents. Through infrared radiation (IR) image enhancement, AI technologies, and dynamic image analysis, Gas Leakage Automatic Recognition technology can automatically recognize gas leaks in IR images.

Applications & Benefits

This innovation enables automatic high-speed monitoring of large-area gas pipelines and chemical plants. Compared to the 50% accuracy of manual inspection using IR cameras, the detection rate of minor leaks in IR footage can be increased to 85%-97%. The research team is currently working with petrochemical plants to realize field applications that will improve public and industrial safety.
