Magnetic Guidance for Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV).
Without proper automation plans, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Taiwan that plan to apply automation systems on the shop floor mostly face the same constraints of dealing with issues of narrow aisles, uneven floor surfaces, and oil pollution in their factories. In such case, manufacturers cannot directly utilize international branded AGVs due to design challenges.
With core technologies such as driver modules, magnetic sensor modules, and controller modules in AGV, ITRI developed various types of AGVs, including low-bed, light duty, and heavy duty vehicles.
Applications & Benefits
ITRI has provided more than 30 SMEs with customized AGVs and application services. Key AGV technologies in Taiwan, along with industrial promotion for added value, have fostered the establishment of AGV manufacturers and built the emerging local AGV industry. This technology could be extensively used by automated equipment manufacturers, and manufacturers in the heavy, automotive and gearbox industries.
