In regards to developments in ultra-low voltage and power technologies, Information and Communications Research Laboratories is consolidating and integrating a multitude of design methodologies to develop an energy conversion chip that pursues maximized energy conversion. Under room temperature, the chip is capable of harvesting the energy from the tiny temperature difference between the human body and surrounding environment.

Applications & Benefits

The collected energy is sufficient for powering devices embedded in wearable gadgets such as those for fingerprint identification, emergency illumination, electrocardiogram monitoring, and other sensors embedded in smart clothes that collect biological vital signs.
