技術簡介

 治療多發性硬化症藥物SK0。
治療多發性硬化症藥物SK0。

老藥品新用途,工研院研究發現原本用於治療支氣管疾病的藥物SK0,能有效減緩多發性硬化症(Multiple Sclerosis, MS)的症狀。多發性硬化症屬中樞神經發生異常的自體免疫疾病,患者可能出現視力受損、肢體無力、暈眩、疼痛、大小便機能失常等症狀,最終可能造成患者無法自主生活或癱瘓。目前多發性硬化症仍無法治癒,僅能以注射或口服藥物改善症狀。

特色與創新

工研院經由藥物研究計畫發現,SK0藥物可有效改善自發性腦脊髓炎老鼠的癱瘓症狀,並能降低神經系統的發炎情形,效果與已上市的MS口服藥Dimethyl fumarate相仿。創新的應用、安全無虞的藥效、合理的生產成本、廣大的患者市場,使SK0切入多發性硬化症的藥物治療更具競爭力。

應用與效益

此技術目前已通過臺灣食品藥品管理局(TFDA)的新藥臨床試驗申請(Investigational New Drug;IND),並完成SK0 全球專利布局。
