5G 小型基地台技術。

隨著 5G 雲端化、虛擬化等特質,營運商積極推動開放式虛擬無線接取網路(Openvirtual-RAN; Open vRAN),讓電信基地台介面更開放與標準化,使電信運營商可攜手第三方設備供應商,打造具彈性且價格實惠的5G網路系統,並可直接向製造業者購買設備,打破既有國際品牌大廠寡占壟斷之局面,預期有助於大幅降低高昂布建成本壓力,進而引動相關訂單大挪移。

工研院運用多年關鍵技術之研發成果,提出 5G 基地台軟體技術與軟硬整合的解決方案,聯合 18 家臺灣業者打造「5G 基地台生態系」,共同開發 5G 小型基地台(Small Cell)產品,更已帶動小型基地台、邊緣運算(Mobile Edge Computing;MEC)、網路功能虛擬化平台(Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure;NFVI)等關鍵產品、模組與相關元件發展,攜手業者搶進全球 5G 商機。
