本次技術驗證針對3D好球帶與球速資料進行比對,並比較來球座標與裁判判決的一致性。驗證方法以韓國電子好球帶標準,設定擊球員身高180公分時,上界為104.58公分、下界為51.12公分,左右範圍則為本壘板左右各2公分。驗證對象為四場比賽,共628顆球(不含揮棒無判決者)。其中289球落在參考好球帶範圍內,249球落在外部。與現場主審判決比較,進好球判定一致率達88.51%,壞球一致率為89.82%。
球速部分,將系統測得數據與雷達槍實測結果比對,平均絕對誤差為2.6公里/小時,94.2%數據誤差在5公里/小時以內,且二者呈高度正相關,決定係數(R²)為0.91。
此外,將3D九宮格系統計算的來球座標,與台中洲際棒球場使用之Trackman系統進行比較。分析了9月26日、27日及10月5日、7日共四場比賽的961球數據。結果顯示,水平座標平均絕對誤差為0.90公分,垂直座標平均絕對誤差為1.84公分。若誤差為正,表示3D九宮格座標相對於Trackman偏左或偏高;若為負,則偏右或偏低。分布圖分析指出,3D九宮格座標整體上較Trackman偏左且偏高,但水平方向誤差相對較小。
基於上述結果,團隊未來將透過空間校正方法,進一步優化3D九宮格系統的精度與一致性。
Abstract
A verification of the 3D strike zone and ball speed data was conducted, along with a comparison of incoming pitch coordinates against umpire judgments. The verification method used the Korean electronic strike zone standard, assuming a batter height of 180 cm, with the upper boundary at 104.58 cm and the lower boundary at 51.12 cm. The left-right range was set at 2 centimeters from each side of home plate. Data from four games, totaling 628 pitches (excluding swings with no call), were analyzed. Among them, 289 pitches fell within the reference strike zone, and 249 were outside. Compared to the on-site umpire judgments, the consistency rate was 88.51% for strikes and 89.82% for balls.
For ball speed verification, measurements from the system were compared against radar gun data. The average absolute error was 2.6 kilometers per hour, with 94.2% of measurements within a 5 km/h difference. A high positive correlation was observed, with an R² value of 0.91.
Additionally, incoming pitch coordinates calculated by the 3D nine-square grid were compared with those from the Trackman system used at Taichung Intercontinental Stadium. Data from four games on September 26, 27, and October 5, 7 were analyzed, totaling 961 pitches. The average absolute error for horizontal differences was 0.90 centimeters, and for vertical differences, 1.84 centimeters. Positive errors indicated that the 3D grid tended to be more to the left or higher than Trackman, while negative errors indicated it was more to the right or lower. Distribution charts showed that the 3D grid coordinates were generally higher and more left-shifted compared to Trackman, with horizontal differences being relatively smaller than vertical ones.
Based on these results, the team plans to further improve the 3D nine-square grid system through spatial calibration methods.

Baseball Fan Watching Experience Domain POC Verification Target is to develop a fan app that is exclusive to CTBC Games fans, enhancing the interactive experience of ball fans, consolidating the fan community, and establishing a differential advantage in competition with other team events. The main highlights include (1) Fan Interaction: Increasing participation (such as member points, interactive games), creating talkability; (2) Real-time Event Data: Strengthening watching experience, attracting more users. Our team cooperates with the CTBC Brothers baseball team to create an AI data platform and value-added service in the sports domain, combining coach experience, AI and data, and fan operation goals, promoting technological training and fan economy added value services, promoting the digital transformation and upgrade of the club’s operation. The research and development of this plan’s 3D trajectory nine-section grid and AI pitcher analysis will be introduced into the baseball image data management platform developed and operated by Guanghe Ganing, providing internal analysis and scouting of the CTBC Brothers baseball team and use by the fan APP.
