技術名稱: 高增益天線罩

技術簡介

在2002年,由G. Tayeb 等人所提出的「超穎材料小型高增益天線」 (Compact directive antennas using metamaterials,12th International Symposium on Antennas, Nice, 12 - 14 Nov. 2002.),揭示了一種利用多層金屬網柵所完成之超穎材料天線罩設計,可以在14 GHz 操作頻帶下,大幅降低微帶天線的半功率束徑寬(僅約為10度左右),因此具有極高之指向性增益。但對於操作於目前市場性較高之WiMAX或WLAN 系統而言,將需要相當之厚度,而使得它的實用性受到了限制。由於WiMAX 骨幹網路基地台的佈建,通常為長距離,點對點的方式構成,因此適用於此類型的長距離無線通訊用天線,必須以高指向性天線為主。高指向性天線有助於提昇等效等向性輻射功率(EIRP, Effective Isotropically Radiated Power),因此高增益天線將可以利用更低的功率,達成遠距離傳輸的目的,同時窄的輻射波束也可避免對鄰近區域造成干擾。本技術突破過去枷鎖,創新設計,利用更低的功率,達成遠距離傳輸的目的,同時也可避免對鄰近區域造成干擾。本技術利用超穎材料(Meta-materials, MTMs)設計概念,設計一高增益天線罩。本天線罩可架設於微帶天線上方,同時與傳統之FR4微帶天線相較之下,可以提高天線增益達2.29 dB (WLAN 5.8 GHz band)。本天線罩與天線整合後,使用所量測之頻寬約為350 MHz。

Abstract

The high gain patch antenna design using of Meta-materials (MTMs) is proposed. With the thin meta- material antenna radome (only 0.06 wavelength including the isolation distance between the antenna radome and the patch antenna),the improved antenna gain can up to 2.29 dB in the WLAN 5.8 GHz band compare to ordinary FR4 substrate patch antenna. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is about 350 MHz (5.56-5.91 GHz, defined by 2:1 VSWR).

技術特色

本技術僅利用高度約0.06波長之天線罩,即可有效增益天線增益大於2 dB。同時天線罩可適用於FR4基板製程,為一種低成本、高效能之設計。
