技術名稱: 寬頻可變增益放大器(VGA)技術

技術簡介

此寬頻可變增益放大器晶片具有42dB(-2.5dB~37.5dB)的增益範圍,增益控制為2dB/step,在所有增益範圍內,-3dB頻寬皆高於1.9GHz,且為直流耦合,適合用於驅動GHz等級的高速ADC。該VGA晶片最大輸入電壓為800mVpp,最大輸出電壓為700mVpp,其輸出共模電壓範圍為1.2~1.8V。增益的設定是透過SPI數位介面控制,這個晶片具備兩組可切換的單端輸入,及兩組差動輸出,主要輸出用於驅動ADC,輔助輸出應用於觸發電路。該晶片具備頻寬選擇機制,可選用的頻寬為20/200/350/500/750/full bandwidth。

Abstract

This digitally controlled variable gain amplifier (VGA) has total gain of 42 dB, varied from -2.5 to 37.5 dB and the gain step is 2 dB. The bandwidth is from DC to 1.9 GHz for all gain setting. When applied to drive a Gsample/second (GS/s) ADC, the VGA can accommodate maximum 800 mVpp of input voltage to get maximum 700 mVpp of output voltage. The output common mode voltage ranges from 1.2V to 1.8V. This VGA has 2 single-end inputs selected by a MUX and 2 differential outputs. The main output is used to drive high speed ADC, and the auxiliary output is for trigger circuit. The bandwidth is selectable, including 20, 200, 350, 500, and 750 MHz, or full bandwidth.
