技術名稱: NVDIMM_非揮發性雙列直插式記憶體模組設計技術

技術簡介

非揮發性雙列直插式記憶體模組是電腦系統中的一種新 型態記憶體模組,有別於一般的記憶體模組,其具備斷 電時資料備份功能。現今伺服器程式運作時,為避免系 統無預警斷電或損毀,程式於一定週期內將重要資料寫 回硬碟中,但由於硬碟存取速度遠不及記憶體存取,故 導致整體程式執行效能不彰。系統搭配此新型態記憶體 模組,其執行程式便可透過記憶體內運算(In-Memory Computing)的方式進行實現,提升整體執行效能。非 揮發性雙列直插式記憶體模組主要組成元件如下:暫存 器時脈驅動晶片、動態記憶體晶片、核心控制器、高速 多工器及非揮發性記憶體。

Abstract

Non-Volatile Dual In-Line Memory Module (NVDIMM) is a new memory module in the computer system. Different from other memory modules, it can back up DRAM content to flash during a power loss. Recently programs need to write meta data back to the disk in an interval to prevent the data loss during an unexpected power loss or system crash. It degrades the program execution efficiency because of the performance gap between DRAM and flash. With this new memory module, programs can be realized by the way of in- memory computing to improve the executing performance. The major components of NVDIMM are shown as follows: Registering Clock Driver (RCD), DRAM, NV controller, high speed MUX and NV memory.

1. 非揮發性暫存器型雙列直插式記憶體模組: 1.1 於正常模式下,運作如同一般暫存器型雙列直插式 記憶體模組;於斷電模式下,動態記憶體資料將自動備 份至非揮發性記憶體中 1.2 整合DDR4暫存器型雙列直插式記憶體模組、非揮 發性記憶體與電源管理於單一模組中 1.3 儲備電力來源選擇:超級電容或DDR4 12V腳位 1.4 8GB (1Gb x 72) DDR4 暫存器型雙列直插式記憶 體模組 1.5 16GB micro-SD 1.6 符合JEDEC規範之DDR4 288-pin雙列直插式記憶 體模組接頭 1.7 快速資料傳輸速率:PC4-2400 1.8 VDD=1.2V 1.9 VPP=2.5V 1.10 VDDSPD=2.25 ~ 2.75V 1.11 支援錯誤控制編碼進行錯誤偵測與修正 1.12 採用單排架構並使用八位元寬動態記憶體晶片 1.13 板上積體電路溫度感測器整合於模組的串列檢測 1.14 板上電路採用Fly-by走線方式 2. 系統層級非揮發性記憶體特徵 2.1 積體電路指令/控制匯流排 2.2 資料備份激發方式:SAVE_n (DDR4 pin 230)

技術特色

核心控制器採用現場可程式化閘陣列(FPGA)進行實現,方便模組開發者進行內部設計調整。模組內之非揮發性記憶體採用 micro-SD卡,非旦方便開發者於前期進行韌體更換,更可於後期針對使用壽命較短之非揮發性記憶體進行快速更換。
