ITRI has developed fuel cell technology with industrial residual hydrogen as its feedstock. This technology not only solves the problem of excess hydrogen disposal but also addresses the issues of short battery life and long charging durations faced by large electric vehicles.

This hydrogen fuel cell power generation system uses a novel metallic bipolar plate and integrates a high-performance membrane electrode assembly and a high strength gas diffusion layer to develop a high-power metal plate fuel cell stack. With highly conductive, corrosion-resistant carbon coating and modularization technologies, ITRI has created a light and cost-effective system with a long service life.

The innovation has been introduced to local companies, assisting them in obtaining the renewable energy certification for hydrogen energy.
