ITRI Chairman Dr. Tsung-Tsong Wu met with the Institute Director Prof. Ulrike Ganesh, and representatives of the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany at Fraunhofer IZM on August 27, 2024. The meeting focused on the strategic direction and future cooperation between the two leading research institutes.
ITRI and Fraunhofer IZM play important roles in advancing semiconductor technology in Taiwan and Germany, making significant contributions to global microelectronics development. As Taiwan seeks to collaborate with like-minded countries to optimize its technological capacity, this partnership offers invaluable opportunities for driving innovations, enhancing social impact and helping to preserve the environment. Not to the least, electronics innovation as developed by the institutes are promoting the integration of technology and art. By leveraging the joint strengths in semiconductor manufacturing and packaging, along with key technologies such as Gen AI and Green ICT, the collaboration between both parties is expected to create novel applications and accelerate industrial development.
