Technology Overview
Low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications are expected to become a crucial factor in enabling 6G rollout in 2030. ITRI has completed the 800 Mbps international standard for autonomous satellite communications systems, a standard equivalent to that used for Starlink; the system has passed the preliminary design review (PDR) of the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) and won the contract from the agency.
Applications & Benefits
With LEO satellite baseband communications technologies, large antenna array systems, and satellite communications modules, ITRI can help companies to verify the antenna module functions of their ground equipment, upgrade their 5G radio frequency module technologies to low orbit satellite end-to-end systems, and pass performance, function, and space environment (e.g., thermal radiation, vibration, and electromagnetic interference) tests.
