Optical Air Quality Sensor.
ITRI developed an innovative optical air quality sensor to fix the problem of insufficient detection accuracy and short usage duration in conventional PM2.5 and O3 sensors. The developed sensor is equipped with a special particulate filter, highly-adaptive optical sensing technology, and atmosphere compensation technologies. Unlike sensors currently available in the market that exhibit high detection error rate owing to humidity, this sensor has a detection error margin of less than 13% and twice the lifetime.
Applications & Benefits
This cutting-edge technology has been adopted by environmental protection departments of five cities in Taiwan, and is also used in power plants and commercial harbors for real-time monitoring of air quality and analysis of potential sources of air pollution.
