Used by the mainstream industries. ITRI has developed a manufacturing process and automatic laser lamination system for thermoplastic carbon fiber-reinforced taps that have high recycling potential. By integrating robotics and laser heating technology, ITRI has developed the multi-axis high-precision lamination technology that can assist the competitive bicycle frames and parts industry to position itself for low-carbon manufacturing.

Applications & Benefits

The Institute has introduced the technology to and is working with local manufacturers for trial production of bicycle wheel rims and carbon-fiber taps based on recyclable thermoplastics.
