The Center for Measurement Standards (CMS) is dedicated to advancing research in measurement standards, testing, certification, evaluation, and instrumentation technologies. It supports scientific research, industry, public infrastructure, and fair trade by ensuring precise quality assurance for products. This commitment enhances the quality of life, underpins governmental authority, and protects environmental and medical sectors.
CMS is missioned to establish and maintain the national measurement standards, to develop advanced metrology technology, to build world-leading semiconductor metrology technologies and lead the development of an autonomous supply chain for high-end measurement instruments. With the goal of enhancing industry and societal resilience, CMS is focusing on developing the capabilities of measurement and standard, testing, inspection and certification technologies in fields of photovoltaic, renewable energy, and green chemistry. CMS is actively engaging with domestic and international organizations to explore next-generation metrology innovations, including net-zero emissions, sustainability, semiconductor advanced inspection and metrology, and digital transformation.
