Senior Engineer

Hometown: Amiens, France

I was born in Amiens, France. I completed my Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering at the joint laboratories of the Paris VI University and the Laboratories of Signal and Systems in Paris, France. I came to Taiwan for the first time in 2003 to work for a bid for my then company Nortel Networks. I decided to stay after finding a job in a Taiwanese defense industry company in Hsinchu. After another job in the semiconductor industry I have joined ITRI in 2007.

Currently in the EOL, I work in the 3D image processing division with a small team on medical imaging, an extremely challenging project consisting in converting 2D images of an endoscope to 3D images. If successful, it would make a significant contribution to the field of Minimal Invasive Surgery. I previously worked on projects such as holographic data storage and 2D to 3D image conversion.

I appreciate the work environment here in ITRI because employees get opportunities to do research on various different topics. For me, the pressure comes more from myself than from my boss. However, I do think that anyone seriously considering pursuing a career in ITRI needs to come with a flexible and open mind and be prepared to work in an environment with a completely different culture from what most foreigners are used to at home.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, biking, jogging and also woodworking. I am vegetarian and I like the many fruits and vegetables Taiwan has to offer. Living in Taiwan is not as difficult if one is open-minded and willing to learn the language in order to mingle with the Taiwanese people and their culture.
