I came to ITRI in 2012 as an intern; the university (Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics) I’ve graduated from has a relationship with ITRI and usually sends students for a summer internship. During my stay I found the work environment disposing to creativity because it is relatively unrestricted by profit pursuits (unlike profit-seeking organizations), and availability of advanced equipment. Later, when I was offered a position I took it without second thought.

My work field here includes all the diversity of embedded systems: starting from simple DSP-based interrupt-driven sensors extending to asymmetric multicore platforms running Linux and comprising FPGAs. Such diversity promotes deeper understanding of electronic science end expands your sphere of knowledge. Usually an engineer in ITRI works on two or three projects every year, some of them are short and finish in one year, others are longer and last for several years.

It is to be noticed that the campus is convenient to live and offers rich facilities to do sport. There is a recreational center right next to the dormitory where one can find ways to spend free time with benefits for his health. People play tennis and basketball after work and from dawn to dusk on weekends; baseball games take place almost every week. Taiwan with its scenic mountain roads is a truly nice place for motorcycle enthusiasts; ITRI has its own heavy motorcycles club as well as a fishing club and almost any club you can imagine.
